So far I absolutely love it, the sound is EXCELLENT on both ends, the volume is GREAT. The only complaint is minor, but it would be great that when you receive a call, you turn it on and it would automatically connect to the call, but it doesn't, otherwise I love it. I just got this a couple weeks ago after my Contour Surface Sound died. It just works and works well.
So basically, once you set it up, you just push the mike in to turn it on and off. But for $50, we can't complain. When you enter the car with your cell phone on and turn the unit on, it automatically connects to your cell phone. And she feels more safe driving our kids around with both hands on the wheel.
Nothing else required besides a weekly charge up. The only downside is that when I talk to my wife from my cell phone, I sometimes hear my own voice in the background. One, it ships with both the car charger and the AC adaptor. On the flip side, when you are the one using BlueAnt in the car, there is no feedback whatsoever. Third was the price. In short, it was a great purchase and I am extremely satified. There were three key features that lead me to my decision to purchase this product after reading all of the prior reviews (both pros and cons).
Two, turning it off is as simple as pushing in the microphone when you exit the car. (only $50) Here's a bonus that we discovered after installing and doing the first time synch with my wife's verizon phone. It is very simple which was important because my wife is not very tech savy. That's why I only gave it a 4 instead of a 5. I just bought the Supertooth Light for my wife this past Christmas. No need to remember to disconnect the blue tooth device from your cell phone menu as with many other units I reviewed.
Bottom line, she loves it.
Loud enough to use in a convertible (city limits). This is the best bluetooth speakerphone I ever had. And finally I have found one that picks up the GPS-directions from my Blackberry and amplifies those, so that I can listen to the radio while driving in un-known territories.I only wish the buttons were backlit for driving in the dark.
The first time I attempted to push the microphone back in it popped right back out, so when I tried again with a little more force it pushed the device off the magnet and dropped onto my nose. It didn't hurt a ton, but I have since learned to use two hands or the combo thumb/middle finger one handed method. I wish there was a visual display that would show me caller ID, but I can just leave my phone close enough that I can pick it up. Now, it should be noted that as I just received this for Christmas and I live in upstate New York and it's freezing.I have yet to try it with the windows down.I also enjoy that I can make calls with voice commands such as "Call Mike Smith work". As I am not super techy I couldn't believe how easy it was to set up and link to my Motorola Razr. I just received this as a Christmas gift. I love that it came with a car charger and an AC charger and didn't force me to buy these seperately.Everyone who talks to me can't believe that I'm on a handsfree device. If needed, the switch from the phone to the handsfree is very simple. One side note - I wish the magnet was stronger.
Unfortunatly the high volume setting is not saved for the next call. That said, nothing else comes close, as once the volume is up, I can use it with the top down at 50 mph. In a convertible you have to set the volume very high. You have to increase to volume on every call.
